The Bears were mostly in control today, but there was a lot of movement in both directions, and lots of good trades for traders, with much more volatility and higher volumes than we have been seeing recently.

Early on, the Bears pushed the market down below the psychological 1100 level like it wasn’t even there, but then the Bulls rallied to get it back above the 1100 mark for a short time, before it finished on the south end of 1100 for the day. 

The market opened today at 1110.00 and closed at 1097.75.

The trading range for the day was from a high of 1113.00 to a low of 1088.75.

There is an open and unfilled gap to the downside from about three weeks ago now at 1023.00, and also one to the downside from last week at 1064.75. There is also an unfilled gap at 1156.25 to the upside from about 2+ months ago.

The Bears continued to have a modicum of control again today, as the market went down a little more on  very low volume and a fairly small range once again. The market lost about 5 Points for the official trading day, and closed about 8 points lower than the close yesterday.

The market also dipped very briefly below the psychological 1100 level, perhaps getting ready for even lower prices tomorrow. Or, maybe the Bulls can muster some resistance, support, and commitment to prevent that. Stay tuned and we’ll see……
